  1. Balaram Mullick and Radharam Mullick


This is one of the oldest and the best sweet shops in Kolkata. It was also voted by The Times of India as the best Mithai Shop in the year 2009 as well as 2010. The shop has its branch in Bhawanipur as well as Paddapukur Road. They are specialized in making chocolate mishti and Nolen gur Sandesh.


  1. Bhim Chandra Nag


This is also a well-known shop in Kolkata after Balaram Mullick and Radharam Mullick. It was founded in the year of 1826 in Bowbazar by Paran Chandra Nag. They are specialized and well known for their sweets called Ledikeni and Asu Bhog Sandesh. They also are famous for their sweets like Abar Khabo, Kodapak Sandesh, Manohara, and more.


  1. Gupta Brothers


They are the most popular ones in town and are well known for their sweets like Gulab Jamun, their Chocolate mishti, and Laddus. It is located in New Alipore just opposite to triangular park.

It is located in the heart of the city, where you can see a whole lot of crowd on a daily basis i.e. in Esplanade. They are the ones who originated the world-famous Rosogollas.   1. Nalin Chandra Das and Sons.


It is also a famous sweet shop in Kolkata and is more than 175 years old. You can get different flavors of Mishti Doi from here and also cannot miss the Nolen gur sweets of theirs. The shop is situated in the Ramdulal Sarkar Street which is also near Hedua Park at Hatibagan.


  1. Sen Mahasay


Being the oldest ones in the city they prepare sweets in a traditional manner. They are famous for sweets like Ratabi Sandesh, pink pera,darbesh, desh gourab, malai chop, and more. It is located in Fariapukur, and they also have other three branches in Kolkata i.e. in Gariahat, Bhawanipore, and Lake market area.

It is located on Chowringhee Road in Kolkata. It was founded by Late Ganguram in the 1880s when he came to Kolkata from Varanasi.  He worked in a shop owned by Raja Kamala Prasad Mukherjee and when his business stopped he gifted Ganguram a small plot of land in Maniktala as he was pleased with his work. Ganguram opened a sweet shop and since then it is a famous and popular one in the city. The shop is known for Indrani and mishti doi and also their famous sweet named Kolaveri di.

The sweet shop is well known for having breakfast there and also famous for mishti doi. It is also famous for sweets like ice cream Sandesh, Chitrakoot, shorer Naru, and more. The shop is located near the college street.


  1. Naba Krishna Guin


It is one of the oldest shops situated in the north of Kolkata. It is famous for its rose cream Sandesh, Chandan kheer and more.
